Bienvenido a la Iglesia de El Salvador.
Este templo, construido entre los siglos XVI y comienzos del XVII, constituye uno de los principales edificios históricos y religiosos de Tiedra.
Su arquitectura responde al estilo gótico tardío, visible en la sobriedad de sus formas y en la solidez de sus muros de piedra.
La iglesia presenta una única nave longitudinal, cubierta con estructura tradicional de madera, un ábside poligonal y una espadaña que se eleva sobre el muro occidental.
Al atravesar el interior, la mirada se dirige hacia el arco triunfal que da acceso a la capilla mayor.
Allí destaca la elegante bóveda de crucería estrellada, realizada durante la primera mitad del siglo XVI, uno de los elementos artísticos más singulares del templo.
La iglesia conserva además un importante conjunto de obras y elementos litúrgicos fechados entre los siglos XVI y XVII.
Entre ellos sobresale el retablo mayor, atribuido a la Escuela de Toro, uno de los grandes focos artísticos del Renacimiento castellano.
Durante siglos, este lugar ha sido escenario de celebraciones, encuentros y momentos importantes en la vida de los habitantes de Tiedra.
Hoy, la Iglesia de El Salvador continúa siendo la única parroquia de la localidad y mantiene vivo su papel como centro espiritual y símbolo de la historia de la villa.

Welcome to the Church of El Salvador.
This church, built between the 16th century and the beginning of the 17th century, is one of Tiedra’s principal historical and religious buildings.
Its architecture reflects the Late Gothic style, visible in the sobriety of its forms and the solidity of its stone walls.
The church consists of a single longitudinal nave, covered by a traditional wooden roof structure, a polygonal apse and a bell gable rising above the western wall.
Upon entering, the eye is naturally drawn towards the triumphal arch leading to the main chapel.
There, the elegant stellar rib vault, created during the first half of the 16th century, stands out as one of the church’s most distinctive artistic features.
The church also preserves an important collection of artworks and liturgical elements dating from the 16th and 17th centuries.
Among them, the main altarpiece is particularly noteworthy, attributed to the School of Toro, one of the great artistic centres of the Castilian Renaissance.
For centuries, this place has been the setting for celebrations, gatherings and important moments in the lives of the people of Tiedra.
Today, the Church of El Salvador remains the town’s only parish church and continues to fulfil its role as a spiritual centre and a symbol of the town’s history.
